Growth without direction is just noise. R&B Wire Products is making clear it has no interest in noise.

The Santa Ana, Calif.-based manufacturer has appointed Poppy Payne as director of channel and portfolio strategy — a newly defined role that signals where the company is putting its energy: disciplined expansion, deeper distributor relationships and a product portfolio built for the long game.

Payne brings more than two decades of experience in product, category and channel management across industrial and material handling markets, a background that maps directly onto the work ahead. In her new position, she’ll partner with R&B leadership to sharpen channel strategy, guide portfolio planning and drive initiatives designed to strengthen the company’s market positioning across key industries.

For R&B President Grant Rawlins, the hire is about reinforcing a commitment the company has held for years. “Poppy brings a high level of experience and perspective to our leadership team,” Rawlins said. “Her background aligns with our long-term commitment to supporting our distributors and their customers with products designed to improve workflows, reduce operational pain points, and deliver consistent performance.”

It’s a pointed addition for a company that has built its reputation on utility and reliability — and one that suggests R&B is thinking carefully about what comes next.
