When Brandan Mohamed opened his first laundromats, the technology behind the counter quickly became a source of friction.
Orders flowed in from multiple touchpoints. Payments were tracked across different systems. Managing garments from intake to pickup often meant stitching together software, hardware, and manual processes that weren’t designed to work as one.
Those early frustrations ultimately became the foundation for LaunderPay.
After several years as an owner-operator, Mohamed built an internal point-of-sale system to track orders and payments across his stores. In 2024, he decided to expand the platform into a full B2B solution for other wash-and-fold, laundry delivery, and dry-cleaning businesses looking to modernize operations and manage the entire order lifecycle—from pre-wash to post-wash—in one place.
As LaunderPay evolved into a commercial product, Mohamed knew the platform needed more than just software. Physical receipts and bag tags remained essential touchpoints for both customers and staff, especially in high-volume laundry environments.
“Our goal was to provide a flexible and dependable POS platform for operators to modernize their business at their own pace,” Mohamed said. “By incorporating Epson printers into our offerings, the hardware becomes the bridge that connects digital convenience with physical technology. With Epson, that transition becomes seamless for operators looking to manage their business online while utilizing physical receipts and bag labels.”
To support that bridge, LaunderPay integrated Epson’s m-Series thermal receipt printers into its POS ecosystem. Designed for compact spaces and continuous use, the printers produce receipts and bag tags while helping operators maintain a clean checkout counter and reliable order flow.
For laundry businesses, reliability at the point of sale is critical. Epson’s m-Series printers are built for consistent performance and enhanced connectivity, allowing staff to focus on processing orders rather than troubleshooting hardware. The printers also offer customizable receipt lengths, helping operators reduce unnecessary paper use and manage costs.
“Epson’s Advanced Paper Savings feature is an interactive tool that helps our customers customize the layout of their receipts – without distorting the content – to reduce paper usage,” Mohamed said. “Leveraging the software included with the printer, our laundry customers can minimize empty space, decide how much space is between each line of text, and reduce the size of a barcode, helping to reduce costs by minimizing paper consumption.”
For New York–based Castle Hill Laundry, the combination of LaunderPay’s platform and Epson hardware helped replace manual processes with a system built for scale.
“The LaunderPay solution has been integral to our success in moving from pen and paper to a digital platform,” said Konul Shirmammadova, co-founder of Castle Hill Laundry. “In laundry operations, where uptime and accuracy directly impact client service, reliability is critical. LaunderPay and Epson printers give us a system that’s always on and always functioning – enabling consistent, high-volume service, especially for our commercial laundry clients.”
As LaunderPay continues to expand its services, printing remains a key component of its roadmap. The company is now exploring label printing options for operators who prefer adhesive labels on laundry bags. To support that need, LaunderPay is turning to Epson’s OmniLink® TM-L100 liner-free label printer, which offers flexible media support for bags made from canvas, cotton, polyester, or nylon.
Together, Epson hardware and LaunderPay software allow operators to manage orders through a single dashboard while supporting the physical workflows required in busy laundry environments.
“Epson’s POS solutions are engineered for ease of use and consistent performance across diverse business environments, delivering immediate functional improvements upon installation,” said Ian Livesay, product manager, Business Systems Division, Epson America, Inc. “LaunderPay sought out a unified system capable of handling demanding workloads for its customers. We are honored they chose Epson as their printing partner and are proud to provide robust, dependable technology that empowers these laundry businesses to optimize their daily operations.”
For Mohamed, the value of dependable hardware is especially clear in the real-world conditions laundries face every day.
“Our customers really appreciate the reliability that Epson printers provide,” he said. “Even in humid and high-traffic laundry environments, the hardware prints quickly and clearly. Operators deal with enough machine maintenance already, so having their POS and printers run virtually maintenance-free is crucial to their business.
